How will we live in the future?
The project is based on theories from the book “The Third Wave” by Alvin Toffler, in which Toffler argues that due to economic inappropriateness, up to 75% of the population engaged in white or blue collar jobs will be transferred to work from home. and that the next generation the major focus will be on finding solutions to the fact that as for now, technology is an obstacle to our interpersonal relationships. And in future times, we will use it to create and strengthen our relationships with those around us and with ourselves.
Thus, the project offers an idea for a future life model in which most of our life cycles are conducted within a single building, functioning as a vertical city, where there is a combination of uses, including housing, work, education and leisure, serving the limited family nucleus. The project is located and intervenes in an old office building. The reason for the choice of an office building is the assumption that since most of the office holders will be employed in office buildings/ towers, the office space will be vacated in the future for occupancy. The concept that dictates the planning and design of the building is the term “connection”, its dissolution and its various meanings. From the decomposition of the different types of connections, a loop scheme was created, and acts as a Mobius ring and creates an infinite movement in the building that includes three types of motion -a circular path, a vertical movement and a link movement.
