This project studies models that can be made from any medium, with potential emphasis added to any aspect the designer sees fit. Throw in constraints, and the design process shifts. This particular study model highlights the “knottedness” a form might captivate.
Knots can be both implied and explicit, while in this form we see an implied sense of knotting. No two strands actually oppose the other’s path, but rather travel in parallel with each other to create a weighted harmony. This appearance of knottedness is met with two perpendicular ground planes providing a pedestal for the knot to rest on.
