The project contains two different systems. The Follies (the white blocks) are derived from the windows of Le Corbusier’s Ranchamp Chaple. In this project, the void of Ranchamp Chaple’s windows is inverted into solids. The second system, which is the Grid, is inspired by the grid of Stahl House. Additionally, the reflections of Stahl House in its windows, mirrors, and pool are also represented through the grid in different density.
This whole project is about the conflict of Ranchamp Chaple and Stahl House, which are two representative works in its historical background. The Stahl House is cut deeply into the Ranchamp Chaple and stopped in the middle. These two systems together create a field that people can participate, walk under the grid of Stahl House and get into the windows of the Ranchamp Chaple.
